These incidents have led to severe consequences for at least 10,600 individuals within the education sector. This figure includes students and staff who have been killed, injured, abducted, arrested, or subjected to other forms of harm as a direct result of these attacks.
Widespread Geographic Impact
The study identified attacks in 83 countries, indicating a broad geographical spread of this concerning trend. While the issue is global, certain nations experienced a particularly high number of incidents. The countries with the most reported cases include Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Palestine, and Ukraine, underscoring areas of significant concern.
